The housing stock
The Camargo company assembled some 12,000 acres of farmland here and divided part of it into 25-acre plots, and a district of grand houses with stables and outbuildings grew up around the Camargo Hunt. Some were genuine estates, including one of about 1,200 acres, since subdivided into lots as small as an acre. Indian Hill became a city once its population passed 5,000.
The terrain runs from flat open grassland to heavily wooded, steeply sloped mature canopy forest, and the buildings match: large primary residences plus outbuildings, stables and garages, each with a roof of its own.
